Quo Vadis ~ (ˈkwəʊ ˈvɑːdɪs) Where are you going?⁠
⁠In this series I am questioning and investigating the way I see, think and look at political, religious and cultural traditions that I grew up with. I re-assess my life, values and where I am going from here both physically and introspectively. ⁠Being a flaneuse, I have taken public sculptures I saw during my travels from all over the world as a basis to make it a universal theme. The female figure in this series s used as a symbol of both freedom and captivity. I believe our strength lies in our vulnerability.⁠ Despite the deeper meaning, which is where the concept started off, this body of work is whimsical and hopeful. I want my art to transcend above this all, and just bring joy to the viewer.⁠
