Artwork title: The Last Climb
This mezzotint etching I have just done, is quite close to my heart.
I had the privilege to climb the Notre Dame Towers and experience the breathtaking view from the top over my beloved Paris. I fell in love with the multitude of gargoyles on my climb, and was stunned by the intricate detail and craftmanship that went into this world famous church with so much history.
Freakishly though, this epic climb of mine was exactly one year to the day before the tragic fire that destroyed most of this beauty.
I therefore decided to aptly call this etching “The last Climb.” I am just so grateful I had the opportunity to do this climb in time.
